What is the best brand of coffee that I can serve in my cake shop?
Im opening up a cake shop next month and i am looking for a coffee supplier. We werent intending on selling coffee but now we are. We just purchased commercial espresso and coffee machines. And we have commercial blenders. Does anyone have any good ideas about a supplier because all i ever drink is starbucks or our local coffee here in KY.
we have a dunkin donuts here and i couldnt sell their coffee in my own shop lol That would be like MdDonalds selling whoppers. We havent bought a grinder yet but I do plan to. I was looking at supplier online and I found one that has different coffees from different countries. Which country is best and what are the differences? We are catering to a lot of hispanics and our shop is the only one on our side of town. Also what is the difference between the dif roasts that you can buy?
HI Sahara,
If you want to for the cheapest there is plenty you can find online.
But if you want to go for a good coffee, then I strongly recommend that you look for a local coffee roaster.
There are many big name coffee supplier that claims that their coffee beans are "roasted" in Italy and send all the way to your country, and you should avoid then as coffee start losing its taste about one weak after roasting. Its like they are saying "old beans for sale".
Anyway, just try to find a local roaster, as they are the one that will be able to deliver fresh coffee for you.
For the country of the beans, its all depends on your preference. If roasted properly they all taste good.
The difference is their characteristics, some may have stronger body, some may have a citrucy or chocolaty after taste, etc.
It s good to choose a single origin beans (coffee bean from a specific estate) if you are planning to have more than one kind of beans served in your shop, as customer can differenciate their tastes. But if you are serving only one kind of bean, then I would use a blend.

Sorry I can not post a link yet, just started using Yahoo answer and I can not post a link yet.
Hope it helps
Some Great Offers On Cake Blender Machine from Ebay
i was thinking that i could mix frozen juice concentrate with some ice ?
would that make a slushy ? i don't have a slushy machine or anything like that, just a blender so please don't tell me to get a machine or anything i have to buy.
so would that work ?
if not, can you tell me another way to make one ?
oh and i'm only 13 so i don't want a frozen martini method either, loool

I make something similar to a slushie but a little different. I use like 4 frozen strawberries, a bit of artificial sweetener, a spoonful of orange juice concentrate, and water. It's amazing.
